CBRE today announced that it has raised HKD$110,000.00 for the charity, Enlighten – Action for Epilepsy, during the first CBRE Walk For A Wish charity walk ever in the territory. 110 CBRE professionals walked 10 kilometers on the morning of Friday, November 22, 2013.
The event was initially launched in other CBRE offices, some time ago, and this is the first year that it expanded to Asia, with staff from CBRE’s Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shenzhen and Singapore offices staging their own Walk For A Wish to support various charities.
Notably, CBRE’s Pacific CEO, Tom Southern, and APAC CEO & Chairman, Rob Blain, took their participation overseas, where they walked around Central Park in New York City while on business.
Craig Shute, Senior Managing Director for CBRE Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan said; “The event provides staff with the opportunity to give back to the community within which they work. We were overwhelmed by the level of support the event received—particularly in its first year in Asia.”
In Hong Kong, the event took the walkers along the coast in Tsim Sha Tsui to raise these precious funds for Enlighten - Action for Epilepsy.
Claudia Schlesinger, CEO, Enlighten Hong Kong said, “Heartfelt thanks to CBRE for their continued support of Enlighten - Action for Epilepsy. This latest initiative 'Walk for a Wish' engages employees from across the business. It started with one business unit in one country and now, two years on, is across the whole business and around the globe. Enlighten is delighted to be the Hong Kong charity of choice. It was amazing to be part of the event on Friday.”
“The HK$110,000 raised for Enlighten will go towards funding family days we provide to give those individuals living with epilepsy an opportunity to learn new skills and meet new friends. These sessions provide many of those affected directly or indirectly by this condition with an opportunity they might not ordinarily have. Thank you CBRE.”
