Excellence in Facility Management

Arnold Ng, Account Manager, ISG Asia ( Hong Kong ) Limited/Standard Chartered  

For: Introducing innovate techniques and technologies in the management of one mil sqf of commercial space.

Responsible the provision of interior design, project management and facility management services to Standard Chartered, Arnold Ng introduced a number of initiatives to reduce operating cost and enhance operational efficiency in 2007. These included the creation of a design hub in Shanghai , the implementation of bespoke IT systems and simplification processes. She has also been instrumental in promoting sustainability in the services.

Ng is a CFM and has an MSc in Real Estate. She served on the Board of the Hong Kong Chapter from 2000 to 2006, with a focus on professional development. She helped organized the annual FM conferences, later called 'integrate' in Hong Kong since 2000 and brought the first FMP to a country outside North America in 2006.

Judging panel said: Championed a wide range of initiatives, which formed a complete FM approach that added value to the client.


Environmental Performance
Sunny Yeung, Associate Director of Sino Group, Property Management Division  

For: Championing a comprehensive range of green initiatives.

Sunny Yeung has been instrumental in putting environment on his organisations radar screen. He successfully turned 'awareness' into 'action', mobilizing staff and tenants of Sino's managed properties to complement series of green initiatives from building designs and energy conservation to air quality improvement and waste management.

Yeung is an honorary associate professor at Hong Kong University 's School of Architecture and a tutor at City University . He is also an assessor at the HK Mediation Council, convenor of the Planning Environment & Land Committee, Real Estate Developers Association and a Council Member for The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Ltd.

Judging panel said: "An environmental leader who aimed beyond merely achieving a 'Green' certificate for a property by involving the community and initiating interactive and educative programs"  


Corporate Facility Management
- Eric KS Chan , Senior Hospital M anager (Facility M anagement), Hospital Authority of Hong Kong  

For: Achievements in promoting FM leadership both within the Hospital Authority and in the wider community

Eric KS Chan has demonstrated continued commitment to improving facilities management in Hong Kong and beyond. Particularly noteworthy is Chan's commitment to energy efficiency, as seen in the many programmes and initiatives he has spearheaded at the Hospital Authority. He has also endeavoured to spread the knowledge he has gained, sharing his experiences at conferences and as part of his work at the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Managers.

Chan is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management. He has taught as a part-time tutor at Hong Kong University 's School of Professional and Continuing Education, Middlesex and Greenwich University and Curtain University .

- Roy WY Tan, Advisor, International Facilities Management, Global Real Estate & Facilities, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte, Singapore  

For: Demonstrating strong leadership in integrating additional industrial buildings into ExxonMobil's FM portfolio.

In 2007, Roy WY Tan was further charge with integrating over 100 additional industrial buildings the facilities management organisation at ExxonMobil. This complex task required the creation strategies to effect changes quickly, including rapid turnaround of decisions on real estate and leasing, outsourcing agreements and regional contracts for furniture, fixtures. Tan provides facilities management guidance to more than three million sqf over 90 sites in Asia Pacific and housing 10,000 employees.

Roy is one of the founding members of the IFMA Singapore Chapter. He was elected as Chapter President from 2004-2006. Among his contributions to Singapore Chapter includes collaboration with Ngee Ann Polytechnic on Singapore Office Occupancy Benchmarking, Energy Management Seminar  

Judging panel said: "Overcame obstacles to attain FM objectives when faced with a daunting challenge."
