Ir. Dr. John D. Gilleard Partner, The Sloane Partnership Facility Management Training Consultant IFMA Fellow Former Associate Dean Faculty of Construction & Land Use & Professor and Head Department of Building Services Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Professor Gilleard is the Former Associate Dean of the Faculty of Construction & Land Use and Head, Department of Building Services Engineering, at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He joined the university in 1990 having previously worked in the UK , Singapore and the US . He established Asia 's first graduate programme in Facility Management in 1996. His current research interests include benchmarking, usability in the workplace and the development of facility management in China . He is the China Editor for the journal Facilities , a past president IFMA ( Hong Kong ) Chapter and an academic member of CoreNet Global. Professor Gilleard received IFMA's prestigious 'Educator of the Year Award' in 1998, and was elected an IFMA Fellow in 2002. He has presented numerous FM lectures and seminars around the globe, including IFMA World Workplace Conferences in the US , Europe and Japan . He has consultancy experience in the fields of building diagnostics, cost estimation, construction scheduling and control, facility management benchmarking and facility location planning.
