Sachiyo Furusaka has been focusing how establish and operate the productive and creative workplace environment through her career over 25 years in this field from the point of view both in-house facility planning perspective and consulting perspective.
She joined Meiho Facility Works,Ltd with a background in strategic planning consulting both for Japanese and Non-Japanese companies at Gensler and inter.office. She developed her career in East Asia including Japan as the Director of Strategic Planning in Asia of Gensler, which is the world best and biggest design firm in the U.S.A.. She also developed the network in Europe when she worked for inter.office as the COO, which imports high-end design office furniture from Europe. Her strategic planning consulting on the client perspective of the business is grown up in her various experiences over 20 years of business planning and Corporate Real Estate at Fuji Bank and NCR. She coordinated several big reorganization/ relocation projects of 3,000 employees at Fuji Bank including the relocation of trading rooms. She also organized the relocation project of 2,000 employees after selling five buildings all over Japan including the NCR head quarter building. Leaving Fuji Bank temporally, she studied Facility Planning and Management at Cornell University from 1991-1994 following Professor Franklin Becker, who was leading Facility Management in the U.S.A, and she worked with Joe Ouye at the Facility Technics in California as a visiting associate from 1994-1995 after getting Master Degree of Cornell University. She has been developing strategic planning consultation services in Japan based on her advanced knowledge and information acquired from her experiences from the client perspective of the business. She is actively involved in the introduction and establishment of Facility Management and Corporate Real Estate in Japan since the middle of 1980’s through several activities in several professional committees. Her networks in this field inside and outside of Japan is quite wide and deep. She is one of the most respected persons in this field in Japan.
