The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Singapore released the reserve site at Jalan Bukit Merah- Alexandra Road on 17 August for hotel developments. Tender applications are now open for applications by the developers.
"The site at Jalan Bukit Merah- Alexandra Road is the first of the four new hotel site that were scheduled for release for application on the reserve list in the Government Land Sales Programme for the second quarter 2007," the Ministry of National Development announced on 14 June.
According to the URA of Singapore, ' t he Land Parcel is located at the junction of Alexandra Road and Jalan Bukit Merah. It is conveniently linked to the rest of the island via the Ayer Rajah Expressway and is served by the nearby Queenstown and Redhill MRT Stations. Beside, it is located near major tourist attractions like Orchard Road, Mount Faber, Vivo City and Sentosa, where the up-and-coming Integrated Resort, Resorts World, is due to be completed in 2010. '
The site, which has a total area of 0.79 ha, is zoned for hotel development. The maximum permissible gross floor area is 22,249 sqm. Under the reserve list system, the site will only be put up for tender if the government find the developers minimum bid price acceptable. RFP
