Japanese projects scooped four MIPIM Asia awards at the ceremony held at the real estate investment conference in Hong Kong. Three of the seven categories were brought home by projects in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Midtown, a mixed-use development in Tokyo consisting of office, residential, hotel, retail and museum space, won in the "Mixed-Use Buildings" category and also received the Special Jury Award.
Projects from Greater China were also successful, with Hong Kong 's Elements Mall, the Banyan Tree Lijiang and Dongtan Eco-city receiving awards. The Berth by the Cove from Singapore was also recognised in the Residential Category.
A judging panel consisting of member from around the region and chaired by Robert Lie, Chairman, ING Real Estate Investment Management Asia (Hong Kong), considered 100 projects from 15 different countries in Asia. "The quality of the final projects is a testimony to the high standards in Asian real estate today," said Lie. RFP
