Haidian Science Park

The Haidian Science Park (HSP) has 56 universities, China’s two premier institutions, Peking University and Tsinghua University and also 232 research institutes of various kinds. The HSP has a solid foundation for its high-tech industries, which now number over 6,000 companies, nearly 80 percent of which are in the IT industry. Over half of China’s top 200 internet companies are based in this park. IBM, Microsoft, HP, 3Com, Cisco, Motorola, Mitsubishi Mitsui & Co,
Fuijitsu are only a few of the IT companies in the HSP. Furthermore, the park offers special incentives: golf, bowling and camping areas, hotels, fi tness centers,
indoor swimming pools, massage and sauna, tennis court,…

2. Hong Kong
Hong Kong Science Park
According to its website, this “hub for innovation and technology in Asia” wants to
attract a large number of IT companies. At the moment there are 73 companies on an area of 220,000sqm and it is building for an additional 37 companies. It is home for GP Electronics, Microtech Innovation Ltd., Philips Electronic H.K., Pericom Semiconductor, Solomon Systec, Thomson H.K., ...

Though not in a central location, it offers a conference centre (with multi-purposerooms, presentation/meetings rooms and a 900sqm indoor exhibition area), apartments for long and short stay (from 700 sqf to 1,895 sqf), fi tness center (sauna and fi tness equipment), catering and retail shops.

Cyberport Hong Kong
Cyberport calls itself “Hong Kong’s IT Flagship”. An area of 240,000sqm, it is home to a strategic cluster of about 100 IT companies and 10,000 IT professionals. There are many well-known companies (Microsoft, Outblaze
Ltd., PCCW Solutions Ltd., Rockwell Automation Asia Pacifi c, Schneider Electric Business Solutions).

Cyberport won the internationally acclaimed Intelligent-Building-of-the-Year-Award 2004 in New York City, which is given to commercial buildings that have used broadband and information systems technology. It is also wellknown as a low-density project consisting of commercial, retail, entertainment and residential
facilities: a fi ve star-hotel with 173 rooms (Le Meridien Cyberport), landscaped terraces and gardens, outdoor cafes and lounges.

3. Dalian
Dalian Software Park

Currently, around 200 enterprises, such as GE, IBM, HP, Dell, Sony, Toshiba and SAP, have settled in Dalian Software Park, which was established in 1998. Half of all enterprises are engaged in software development. It is becoming the largest
software export base and the largest professional software training base
in China.

Hsinchu Science Park

Since the Hsinchu Science Park was established in December 1980, about 384 high-tech companies located to the park by the end of 2005 in an area of 632 hectares: Logitc, Acer Mobil Networks, Fuijitsu Taiwan Limited, Nano Dynamics,
etc.

New Songdo City
New Songdo City – marketed as “Korea’s International Business Destination” – is a master-planned international business center being developed on 1,500 acres and should be fi nished in the year 2011. Beside a lot of high-tech-companies, it will include a Central Park, International School, Hospital, Ecotarium, Museum, Gold Course and Cultural Centre.

Digital Media City
They plan the world’s foremost production center for digital media content in Seoul - the world’s most wired city – Lee Myung Bak, Mayor of Seoul an the DMC website said: “A gateway to tomorrow is under construction.” Finished in 2010.

DLF Centre spans an area of 125,000 sqf. In 2006 many world-wide-known IT
companies - like IBM, Equant, Dell and Microsoft - moved in.

Kolkata’s IT hub in Salt Lake is about to see a massive infrastructure fl ash.The
Government is working to create an additional 13.3 mil sqf building space for
the IT industry. A big new hub is under construction. Recent tenants include:
• ICICI OneSource leased 50,000 sqf • Capgemini leased 46,500 sqf
• Cognizant leased 150,000 sqf

3. Bangalore
“India’s Silicon Valley”

This is a nickname for the entire city of Bangalore. The name signifi es Bangalore’s status as a hub for information technology companies in India. There are over 90 large-scale IT companies, like Alcatel, Amazon.com, Cisco Systems, Dell, Google, IBM, Macromedia, MCAfee, Oracle, Samsung, Microsoft, Siemens, Sun Microsystems and Yahoo!, as well as the giant Indian IT outsourced services companies, like Infosys and Wipro.

Malaysia

Multimedia Super Corridor

MSC is a Government designated zone for high-tech companies. It includes an area of 15 x 50 km² which stretches from the Petronas Twin Towers to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

With its unusual incentives such as tax breaks, unlimited importation of
knowledge workers, and so on, it has attracted a large number of international
IT and high-tech companies, like Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Alcatel, Cisco, Motorola Multimedia and Nokia.

Singapore
1. SINGAPORE

About 7,000 foreign, multi-national companies, particularly IT companies,
from around the world have their regional headquarters in Singapore,
like HP, Compaq, Motorola, Hitachi, Matsushita, Philips, Siemens,
Sony, Thomson, Toshiba, and IBM. Singapore markets itself to these
companies by offering great infrastructure
and incentives.
